As a Chinese American growing up in the States, I couldn’t help but to notice the stark difference in Asian stationery products compared to the ones that Target, Walmart, and many other big-name retailers offered. The fun, vibrant colors made organization seem far more interesting, and I always made sure to stuff my suitcase with as many pens, stickers, and sticky notes that my mom would let me. But, as I grew older and my passion for graphic design and illustration began to flourish, I realized that I didn’t need to be the one lugging these products back to the states - I could create the very ones that I, among others, felt were missing where I lived. So, in January 2020, I launched sofeistudio, an online based stationery shop that caters bright and bubbly designs towards a western audience. At the end of the day, I want to put a smile on those who come across sofeistudio, and put a spin on what stationery and organization can look like!
